Decking cleaning and restoration

Power washing deck is one of the most efficient way to prepare decking for the final coat of decking oil. Always read some helpful instruction if you are not sure how to do it.

YOU WILL NEED

Power washer, decking cleaner, brush, decking oil, decking oil applicator, gloves and safety glasses.

APPLICATION OF QUALITY DECK CLEANER

Always use decking cleaner that was made for decks. Make sure to follow all the instructions on the package to get best possible results.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT TIP FOR POWER WASHING

We recommend to use 15° yellow or 25° green tip for power washing your decking to avoid any damage on the wood.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT PRESSURE AND ANGLE

Very important is to remember to choose right pressure and angle, to avoid any damage on your wood. For this reason, if you are power washing for the first time always pick a small area of decking and try different pressure of your power washer.

GET READY FOR OIL

After you have decking cleaned, let it dry for at least couple of hours on sunny day, ideally one full day make sure you choose good quality decking oil, follow the instructions on the package and always leave at least two coats (4 hours recoat) and make sure outside temperature is not below 8°C.

Now that you´ve successfully cleaned and restored your decking let it dry for at least 4 hours.
